electives
biology
Hello!
Are you considering choosing biology as an elective?
Then we promise you, as a (compulsory) biologist, you know about your body, how to stay healthy, where babies come from :-) how plants feed on light, air and water and why we can't do that, about eating and being eaten and so much more. Many topics concern YOU! You learn to work scientifically and get to the bottom of "things" through practical work! Interest? So now you know what to choose.

social sciences
Have you always wanted to know how elections and the democratic state work? Would you like to deal with current topics such as media, sustainability, extremism and migration? Are you interested in discussions and debates? Then you've come to the right place in the Sowi class.
In addition to political basics, we discuss various social issues that may also affect you in the future: What are unions? What rights do I have as a customer? How does fake news work?
An important part of the lesson is also the development and representation of one's own point of view. We practice this with the help of debates, discussions or talk shows.
Arts
In the art elective subject, our students deepen the content of the art lessons. Both practical and theoretical basics are taught.
The contents of this subject include:
painting
printing techniques
perspectives
different styles of art and artists
plastics and sculptures
collages
"Everyone is an artist" Joseph Beuys
technology
What awaits you in the subject technology:
After we have dealt with the safety rules in technology lessons, you can finally start with the big ones
tools and the machines work.
Every school year you work with different materials / materials (wood, plastic and metal) and also receive
a license for it. In addition to the materials, you will also get to know and be able to use various manufacturing processes
apply, test and reflect on in class.
You can work on your own in the practical lessons, but you can also work in a team if you discuss yours with others from the course
want to exchange creative ideas.
computer science
Informatics is a subject that is suitable for both girls and boys. If you have stamina, the ability to concentrate and enjoy logical thinking, you are in the right place for the computer science elective. In most of the hours we work on the computer, where we learn, for example, how to use Office applications, programming and how to control a Lego robot. Of course, we also explore what components a computer is made of, what it needs to work and how it processes our data. To promote media literacy, we also deal with how we can find information on the Internet and at the same time protect ourselves from the dangers of the Internet. Most students agree: "Info" is fun!
Dutch
"Hartelijk Welkom!" - A greeting that you've probably heard and seen before. These words are lived in the Netherlands and you are always welcome as a guest.
You always wanted to know why the national teams play in orange? Did you know that there is a king in the Netherlands? Are you interested in finding out what all the words you read mean when you "drive over" to shop? Would you like to get to know Dutch specialties and talk to Dutch students? Do you want to get to know the Netherlands with us and visit the country and the people regularly? Maybe with a student exchange? Then you've come to the right place, because here you will also be given a warm welcome and you will get to know life in the Netherlands in comparison to your own origin / culture. You can find out what this looks like in detail in the video and in the course.
French
bon jour
Here we would like to present to you what we do in French from class 7: After the students in class 6 got to know French as a working group, we continue in class 7 with what we have learned. The pupils learn how to greet each other, can hold short dialogues and get to know the country and its people.
The lessons are accompanied by excursions, for example to eat crêpes or to the cinéfête (an event in the cinema where the pupils watch a French film - with subtitles -) and a day trip to Liège (Liège) in Belgium. Or the France Mobil comes to our school (you can find information about the last visit in December 2021 on our homepage).
A bientôt (see you soon)
